Google’s new Chromecast is very cheap, but doesn’t support 4K resolution

The rumors are true: Google has introduced a new, cheaper version of its Chromecast devices, but at the cost of several features found in older models.

Named Chromecast from Google TV (HD), premonitions for this new device appeared recently some reports suggest the company is expanding hardware support to non-4K TVs. And it does. It’s new Chromecast HD (opens in a new tab) is essentially a subdued version of the 2020 model that supports 4K HDR streaming and several Dolby video formats.
